Hello to all...

It’s March and time for me to write in the Grapevine. First, I want to thank all who voted for me to once again serve on the Board. I will do my best for all the home owners here at Chardonnay. I want to write about the people who volunteer their time to serve with all the committees. We are all very lucky to have these Committees that do much work, making this a wonderful Condo Association. They can always use more volunteers. Here at Chardonnay, we have the Architect/Maintenance, Social, Pool, Finance, Landscape, Ladies Chain Gang and Welcome Committees.

The Architect/Maintenance committee performs a lot of the maintenance work for the association that in the end saves, you the resident, by keeping your maintenance fees at a minimum.

The Social Committee is involved in the planning and sponsoring of monthly functions that many of the condo owners attend and they are always open to every owner. Many of these do not cost a penny to attend. They just ask you to attend and have fun.

The Pool Committee are people keeping the pool sparking and clean for your relaxation during the hot summer months.

The Finance Committee is responsible men who know what to do with our money so we get the most for our buck. They too, are doing a great job.

The Landscape Committee does their fine job of keeping the grounds looking great. We just need to look at the entrance and come up the hill and see the flowers, to see what a great job they do, not to mention the job they do every holiday with the beautiful decorations.

The Ladies Chain Gang meet every Monday at 12:30 for sewing or to have their usual gabfest. They plan several activities to make money to purchase various needs for the Community.

The Welcome Committee meets and greets new residents and presents them with a gift and tells them about the community.

We need to give thanks to the Clubhouse Coordinators. They are in charge of rentals and keep the Clubhouse spotless and they do a great job at this.

There it is, all the Committees here at Chardonnay and they could use more volunteers plus they all have an open door policy for new ideas and help. Let all of us think about this and volunteer, this year 2007, and see how good it makes you feel about yourself.

We all should be very proud of our homes. People outside of here are somewhat jealous of the Chardonnay Condos. I used to drive for the Seniors of NKY and picked up a lot of other condo owners and they always talked about how active we are here at Chardonnay. Lets all look at ourselves and make a statement in 2007 and plan to step out of our homes and volunteer for one or more of these committees. It will make you feel young again. Thank you all for whatever you want to do and let’s all continue to make Chardonnay the place it is and the place we want it to continue to be. Have a great 2007.

Ned Barnes, Board Member

WELCOME COMMITTEE

The Welcome Committee is in the process of revising the community address/telephone list. If your telephone number has changed in the past six months please notify Judy Hahn (781-6329) of that change. If you moved into our community after October 2006, please let Judi know. She will need your unit number, name(s) of resident(s), phone number(s) and birthdate(s). Thank you. We hope to have this project completed by the end of March.

Judi Hahn, Welcome Committee Chairperson

REMEMBRANCE LANE

The Board has put the “Chain Gang” in charge of getting this memorial started. We have had several generous donations and as the spokesperson for the “Chain Gang” I would like to give a heartfelt thanks to all who have been so kind. We have the names of 14 loved ones that will be put into our “Lane” as soon as weather permits. We have Lewin Monuments, from Ft. Mitchell, coming to engrave the bricks (on the spot}. The weather has to maintain 50 degrees or better for a period of time for this to happen, but they are ready with the names and dates. We are also looking to have a dedication plaque made for the ceremony on the day of the opening of the pool.

So, while a great big thanks goes out to all who have contributed on behalf of their friends and family, we are still accepting donations for the plaque, landscaping and upkeep of this Memorial.

Thank you in advance for participating.

Nancy Trowbridge

NEXT BOARD MEETING

The next Board Meeting will be held Thursday, March 15, at 7:00 PM at the clubhouse. Please plan to attend.

VALENTINE DINNER

The Chardonnay Community Valentine dinner was held on February 9, and was attended by 30 residents. Food included a choice of lasagna or beef tips with noodles. Several ladies contributed the desserts – which were so very plentiful and delicious. Thanks ladies!!

We played a game in which the players had to determine “famous pairs”. These “pairs” were not necessarily people. The winners of the game were Tom Bennett, Barb Culp and Jerry Lehkamp. We left the clubhouse well fed and happy.

Evie Smith, Bill Frambes and David Trowbridge enjoying the Valentine dinner.

STORAGE SHED

Thanks to David Trowbridge for all his work in getting the new storage shed installed. This will help keep some of our needs out of the weather and neatly organized. This will also free up some of Bob Gray’s and Bob Wheeler’s storage areas. We were in dire need of storage space. Landscaping of the area will follow after the weather breaks.
