February 2008LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT There was an excellent turnout for the annual meeting and election of officers. Six outstanding candidates were running for the four openings on the board. In addition to me, the following people were elected: Wm Frambes, Lola Bennett, and Ken Allen. I wish to take this opportunity to thank the home owners who voted for me. The board elected me president for 2008 and I consider it an honor to serve the people living in this community and will be depending on the homeowners support. My agenda in running for the board was to build upon and enhance the progress made by the competent and dedicated past board members. Those boards have demonstrated financial responsibility while maintaining an aesthetically pleasing community. I also voiced that I would remain supportive of the various committees and encourage more resident involvement. My agenda has not changed. This community has many volunteers who give of their time and talent to this community. This was evidenced by the many people who received recognition at the annual board meeting. I encourage other residents to become more involved by sharing ideas and solutions you may have for improving your community. This can be accomplished by involving yourself in the various activities, joining a committee, attending board meetings or personally contacting a member of the board. I look forward to being a leader and team player with the other elected
members of the board whose positions are: This is your community. Please get involved. Sincerely, |

Dear Chardonnay Friends, Thank you for all of your prayers, thoughts, cards, calls and good wishes during my chemo treatments. So far I am doing really well, and although our winter in Florida has been delayed, we hope to get away for a few weeks the end of February. Thanks again, Rhoda Wheeler |
RETARDED GRANDPARENTS (This was actually reported by a teacher) After Christmas a teacher asked he young pupils how they spent their Holiday away from school. One child wrote the following: We always used to spend the holidays with Grandma and Grandpa. They used to live in a big brick house but Grandpa got retarded and they moved to Florida. Now they live in a tin box and have rocks painted green to look like grass. They ride around on their bicycles and wear name tags because they don’t know who they are anymore. They go to a building called the wrecked center, but they must have got it fixed because it is all okay now, and they do exercised there, but they don’t do them very well. There is a swimming pool too, but in it, they all jump up and down with hats on. At their gate, there is a doll house with a little old man sitting in it. He watches all day so nobody can escape. Sometimes they sneak out. They go cruising in the golf cars! Nobody there cooks, they just eat out. And they eat the same thing every night – early birds. Some of the people can’t get out past the man in the doll house. The one’s who do get out, bring food back to the wrecked center for pot luck. My Grandma says that Grandpa worked all his life to earn his retardment and says I should work hard so I can be retarded someday too. When I earn my retardment, I want to be the man in the doll house. Then I will let people out so they can visit their grandkids. ……..PRICELESS
