| This month the board wants me to let you
know about two upcoming activities of importance to the community.
First: The annual spring walk around will be held on 9 April beginning
at 9:00 am, meeting at the Club House. The Board, Towne Properties, and
representatives of the involved committees will be walking around the
community looking at the state of our buildings and grounds, looking
for items needing improvement or repair and setting priorities for this
year’s investment. Anyone with an interest is welcome to accompany
us. Also, if you know of a problem that you think we should address,
please let a member of the board know about it before our walk around,
so that we can evaluate it. Administration: Alan Hahn (781-6329) Each board member will recruit two or three others to join their ad hoc committee to review and revise their section. If you would be interested and willing to help in this effort, please contact the board member responsible by e-mail or by calling one of the above numbers. R. Alan Hahn | |

We have received word that our troop will be returning to Iraq this July 2007. They are a forward support company in advance of the infantry. What this means is our Ft. CHARDONNAY AT WORK |

Since there are several owner/residents who cannot attend the Board Meetings, we will attempt to bring you up-to-date on the major tasks at hand and the status of these tasks. STREET TURNOVER TO CITY – The Board is still working with City Council, however things are pretty much at a standstill at this time. Legal action may be the next course, PAINTING OF BUILDINGS – The exterior and interior of buildings 1, 3 and 17 have been completed except for the exterior doors which require an oil base paint and warm weather. The Board is negotiating with the contractor to paint buildings 4, 5, 15 and 17 this year beginning early spring. SPRING HAS SPRUNG Spring has sprung and summer is right around the corner. We have the smell of freshly laid mulch (yuk) and soon to be the nice clean fragrance of the newly moved grass. The landscaping crews are busy getting our grounds looking their best. There seems to be some people that do not dispose of their garbage in the proper manner by throwing out wrappers, cans, bottles and cigarette butts for some one else to pick up. Have some pride in your neighborhood and dispose of these items properly and inform your guests to do the same so we can continue to take pride in our community. PANCAKE BREAKFAST Approximately 35 people attended Saturday’s Pancake Breakfast sponsored
by the Chain Gang. Everyone was served a delicious breakfast of pancakes,
sausage, fruit and juice. Mary Chapin donated the pancake mix used by the
ladies. Thanks Mary and thanks to all the ladies of the Chain Gang for
your donations and hard work. It was delicious!! We had 15 people participate in Bingo this past month. |
ARCHITECTURAL & MAINTENANCE – The erection and exterior painting
of the storage facility has been completed. • Shelving and storage hooks are to be installed • Exploring the possibility of installing a ramp to the facility. • Landscaping will be added around the facility this summer. • Skirting around the bottom of the facility will be installed in the near future. We are still exploring means of improving the appearance of the doorbells and mailbox tags. If you need your mailbox tag changed, advise Ron Culp 781-6910 with the name and number. Likewise, if the doorbell names need to be changed advise Ron accordingly.
At the annual meeting in January there were several individuals that crossed the name of a deceased spouse or other family member, that no longer live with them, off the sign-in sheet. I do realize that many widows prefer to leave their names on the information for safety, but there were several who wished their name could be removed. We are able to do this, only if we have something in writing and some type of backup (such as a death certificate or mortgage deed in their name only) for legal reasons.
